What sensitive skin is actually reacting to
Polyester and nylon are plastic fibres. They do not drink sweat the way plant fibres do. They sit against skin through a warm session and the commute after. Some people never notice. Some people notice after years of not noticing.

Softness is not a synonym for safe
Soft can still be plastic. Recycled polyester is still polyester. The bottle story does not change what sits on skin. Recycled polyester activewear is still plastic.

What to check before you buy another set
Read composition before logo. Look for polyester, polyethylene terephthalate, PET, nylon, polyamide. If those lead the list, your skin is bargaining with plastic fibre whether the price is high or low.
